I've finally figured out why i've never been able to get overly enthusiastic about Harry Potter. It's not so much about the books themselves but the people who read them that make me so uncomfortable. Why? Becuase in case you haven't noticed, Harry Potter fandom is fucking insane!
Also, 5 spoilers from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
(1) "I am your father, Harry," said Darth Hermione.
(2) "Polyjuice potion is made of people!"
(3) "Rosebud...was his wand."
(4) Severus Snape is Kaiser Soze.
(5) Brad Pitt's character was actually Ron Weasley's hallucination.
And finally Things I'm Not Allowed To Do At Hogwarts
I'd totally break rule number 48. I'd also teach them a certain song about hedgehogs too.
Quote of the day

I have to say, I read the first chapter, and I thought "This'll be a GOOD movie."
As long as 'e's got screentime, I don't really care what the character does.
And yes, the fandom has always been my biggest confusion. Well written, enjoyable books, yes, and for a not usually well-catered to age group - but it's not like they're the FIRST well written enjoyable books!
So, I'm very appreciative of 17, 29, 31, and of course 44. Before I read 48, I was going to suggest it, so I think we can certainly say I'd be guilty. You have to admit that 47 is a giggle, too. All the culturaly-referential geek-dom!

"I am no longer allowed to use the word 'Pimp Cane' in front of Draco Malfoy."
But dude, the pimp cane was my favorite prop EVAR!
